The Man U fans 'internet' team take on the City fans this Saturday (24th) as
a warm up to a big tournament (WorldNet 2000) taking place next month. We're
recruiting new players so this Saturday would be an ideal chance to show
your stuff (with a ball that is). Kick-off time, directions and information
on the team can be found at http://www.barcliff.freeserve.co.uk/, drop me a line
if you're interested in this friendly or the tournament - go on - don't be
soft. ([email protected])
Thanks, Doug
I've included this press release to give you more info on the tournament:

Internet Football Fans Kick Off In Leeds
The fifth annual tournament for football fans from all over the UK and
Europe is to be held in Leeds on 22/23 July 2020. The fans, all members
of e-mail lists related to their favourite team will play for the Sports
Inter-active Cup. The event has been sponsored by Sports Interactive, makers
of the top selling Championship Manager 3 computer game.
Last year's champions, Arsenal, will be defending their title against over
40 other teams of supporters from the English, Scottish and even Greek
divisions. The event will take place at Leeds University's Bodington Hall
and will attract over a thousand players.
Tournament organiser and member of the Leeds United e-mail list, John
Boocock says: "Since 1996 we have been getting together with football
fans from all over the world and showing that we can all enjoy the game
together. We run a league right through the year and opposing fans meet
before going to see their teams play to have a game of football, a few
pints and a good laugh".
To find out more about the event you can visit the Internet Football Association's
website at http://www.internetfootball.org or e-mail
